The Rotary Club of Dover has come upon a wonderful fundraiser using bears, artwork, and eBay.
Welcome to the Rotary Club of Dover Dancing Bears Project! The Rotary Club of Dover is bringing out of hibernation the Dancing Bears. Not live bears, but thirty-one, three foot tall and two-six foot tall fiberglass bears decorated by local artisans. The public art project will be on display throughout the city beginning July 15, 2005 through October 2, 2005. You may be familiar with the Cows on Parade in Chicago, the Cows of New York, The Big Pig Gig in Cincinnati, the Bears of Belfast, Maine or The Really, Really Pig Show in Brandon, Vermont. The Rotary Club of Dover's Dancing Bears will be a similar public art display that will highlight the City of Dover as well as give thousands of dollars back to the community through increased tourism, community pride, and city visibility.
