Athens Rotary’s Annual Holidays Party for members and their spouses, and guests, will be held on Monday, December 10th at the Ohio University Inn.  A social hour (open bar) begins at 6 PM, dinner will be served at 7 (See Menu below).  Guitarist Gary Efaw will provide the ambiance.  Shortly after 8 PM there will be some brief business and announcements and then our musical feature this year will be The Heights who will perform till 9 or so.  (See more about the Entertainment below.)
 
If you plan to attend, please let Dave Palmer (palmerd@wxtq.com) know the number in your party and the entre (Chicken, Pork, Veggie) for each attendee either by using the sign-up sheet at our noon meetings or by contacting Dave directly by email.

Entertainment:
   Terry Efaw’s name has been synonymous with success since the early '70's.  At age 19 he won the Chet Atkins National Guitar Competition.  Shortly after he formed the group McGuffey Lane and signed a national recording contract with Atlantic Records.  Terry's unique finger style guitar playing and pedal steel work can be heard on numerous albums.  As a solo guitarist, his specialty is easy listening, background guitar music superbly played on electric and classical guitar.  From Classical to Jazz, Latin to Country, Terry provides the finest mood setting guitar music.  Terry's flawless technique and unmatched sensitivity is the perfect entertainment for that special occasion.
 
  
 
The Heights…
 
Kento Lankas is an Athens native and has been a professional pianist and keyboardist for over 20 years, regularly playing at local venues including the OU Inn, the Oak Room, and other amazing venues such as Toscanos, Athens Country Club and multiple awards ceremonies and banquets for Ohio University.  He has also performed in Japan, Italy, Los Angeles, did a year residency at the Cafe Alto (the oldest Jazz club in Europe) in Amsterdam, played at the Indianapolis 500 for over fifty thousand people, and with many bands regionally and nationally.  He is a founding member of the rock band ERB and fills his spare time with Skye playing around America. He can be heard currently at Tavolino on the last Saturday of every month.
 
Skye Hope classically trained in Musical Theater and the Operatic Arts at Kent State, and graduated from Ohio University with a degree in Media.  While at OU, Skye had her own sketch comedy TV show, as well as a stint on the afternoon drive at WXTQ.  Upon receiving her degree, she ventured to the West coast to hone her craft as an artist and Singer/Songwriter, spending many years living and performing in Seattle, Hollywood, and Los Angeles.  Regularly performing at world famous venues such as the Rainbow Bar and Grill, the Whisky a Go Go and many others, she now brings her unique voice and talents to Southeastern Ohio, and can be heard regularly on Wed and Thurs nights on Power 105 from 10-Midnight.  She also performs all across the region with her original Band ERB at various large festivals and clubs.  Skye is as well a talented Reiki Master with a burgeoning clientele from all around America.
