Roger Finlay Passes On Former Athens Rotarian Roger Finlay died unexpectedly on March 13th at Beaufort Memorial Hospital near his home on Dataw Island, South Carolina.
 
Roger was 75. Roger came to Athens in 1962 and joined the University faculty as an Assistant Professor in the Physics Department. Over a long and distinguished career at Ohio University, he was instrumental in establishing an internationally recognized program in nuclear physics research. Roger was also a founding director of the University's Institute for Nuclear and Particle Physics. Donations in the name of Roger Finlay may be given to The Ohio University Foundation, P.O. Box 869, Athens, Ohio 45701. Memorial services at Dataw Island and in Athens will be held at a future date.
