Rotary International District 6690 Governor, Gary R. Vaughan and his wife Janet, were our guests and speaker last week (Oct. 14).  He spoke about Rotary International's service projects and the International Rotary Foundation.  DG Vaughan emphasized recent progress in the ongoing End Polio Now project and presented special lapel pins to two members of our club (Lois Gerig and Dave Diggle) (see photo right) who recently became members of the District’s “125 Club” ("For members that have contributed at least $100 to The International Rotary Foundation’s Annual Fund and Contributed at least $25 to PolioPlus in the same year").
DG Vaughan complemented all of us for our club's annual service projects and was particularly impressed with our Rotary Centennial Fountain Project which we initiated in the International Rotary Centennial Year, 2005, and just revisited this year with our Rotary Fountain Renovation Project led by Bruce Wentworth.
DG Vaughan then presented our club with an award for the Rotary Centennial Fountain Project (which was accepted by President Tom Gibbs) (see photo left).  He also presented Bruce Wentworth an award for leading the Fountain Renovation Project (no photo available).
Thanks to President Elect Sheila Mark for providing these photographs.
