Split the Pot Contest #35
A new Athens Rotary Foundation Scholarship Fund split the pot contest started on March 5, 2018.   The weekly winner was Art Marinelli.   Art collected the weekly split of $19, but failed to find the Joker and instead drew the 4 of Hearts from the full deck of cards.   The accumulated pot will start at $19 next meeting with  52 cards remaining in the deck.
Service Opportunity
Good Works Friday Night Supper
Friday, March 23
4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. (must be available the entire time)
Volunteers will prepare a meal for 150 people, dine with the attendees, clean-up after the meal and wash dishes, and learn about the mission and vision of Good Works. Teens are welcome to volunteer. This volunteer opportunity is limited to 14 participants. Please contact Tara Gilts at tara.gilts@ohiohealth.com or 566.4539 if you would like to volunteer.
 
Also, consider making a donation for this project by dropping cash or a check made out to the Athens Rotary Foundation in the hat (envelope) that will be passed at our late February and March Rotary Meetings.
 
Split the Pot Contest #34
The winner of the Athens Rotary Foundation Scholarship Fund split the pot contest on February 26th was Steve Patterson.   Steve collected the weekly split of $22, which he donated back to the scholarship fund and then nonchalantly drew the Joker from the deck, thus winning the accumulated pot of $639.   So, we will begin a new contest next week.  Congratulations to Steve!
 
The winner of the Athens Rotary Foundation Scholarship Fund split the pot contest on February 19th was once again the pooling players at Dave Palmer's table.   Karen Harvey represented the table and collected the weekly split of $22.  But, she unsuccessful in cutting the Joker from the deck, drawing the Ace of Clubs.   The accumulated pot will start at $617 at our next meeting with  24 cards remaining in the deck.
 
The winner of the Athens Rotary Foundation Scholarship Fund split the pot contest on February 5th was me,  John Miller.   I collected the weekly split of $20, and had the guest of our speaker, Nicole Philips, cut the deck for the Joker.  She instead drew the 4 of Clubs, so, the contest will continue next week with $595 in the accumulated pot with  25 cards remaining in the deck.
 
The winner of the Athens Rotary Foundation Scholarship Fund split the pot contest on January 29th was Larry Conrath.   Larry collected the weekly split of $26, but failed in his attempt to cut the Joker from the deck when he drew the Jack of Spades.   So, the contest will continue next week with $575 in the accumulated pot with  26 cards remaining in the deck.
 
The winner of the Athens Rotary Foundation Scholarship Fund split the pot contest on January 22nd was once again the pooling players at Dave Palmer's table.   Don Fucci represented the table to collect the weekly split of $24, but was again unsuccessful in cutting the Joker from the deck, drawing the Seven of Clubs.   The accumulated pot will start at $549 at our next meeting with  27 cards remaining in the deck.
 
 
The winner of the Athens Rotary Foundation Scholarship Fund split the pot contest on January 15th was President Mike Noel.   Mike collected the weekly split of $21, but failed in his attempt to cut the Joker from the deck when he drew the Five of Hearts.   I noticed a $20 math error  from the 11/20/2017 drawing, so, the contest will continue next week with $525 in the accumulated pot with  28 cards remaining in the deck.
 
The winner of the Athens Rotary Foundation Scholarship Fund split the pot contest on December 18th was once again the pooling players at Dave Palmer's table.   Don Fucci represented the table to collect the weekly split of $18, but was unsuccessful in cutting the Joker from the deck, drawing the Two of Hearts.   The accumulated pot will start at $524 when we next meet after the holidays with  29 cards remaining in the deck.
 
 
The winner of the Athens Rotary Foundation Scholarship Fund split the pot contest on December 4th was Jan Garske.   Jan collected the weekly split of $20, but she missed out on the accumulated pot when she cut the Ace of Spades instead of the Joker from the deck.   The contest will continue on December 18th with $506 in the accumulated pot and  30 cards remaining in the deck.
 
The winner of the Athens Rotary Foundation Scholarship Fund split the pot contest on November 27th was Jeanne Heaton.   She collected the weekly split of $21, but failed in her attempt to cut the Joker from the deck, drawing instead, the Jack of Hearts.   So, the contest continues with $486 in the accumulated pot with  31 cards remaining in the deck.
 
The winner of the Athens Rotary Foundation Scholarship Fund split the pot contest on November 20th was Mike Noel.   Mike collected the weekly split of $21, but failed in his attempt to cut the Joker from the deck when he drew the Queen of Hearts.   So, the contest continues with $465 in the accumulated pot with  32 cards remaining in the deck.
 
The winner of the Athens Rotary Foundation Scholarship Fund split the pot contest on November 13th was once again the pooling players at Dave Palmer's table.   Dave represented the table to collect the weekly split of $23, but was unsuccessful in cutting the Joker from the deck, drawing the King of Clubs.   The accumulated pot will start at $424 next meeting with  33 cards remaining in the deck.
 
The winner of the Athens Rotary Foundation Scholarship Fund split the pot contest on November 11th was Pete Couladis.   Pete collected the weekly split of $25, but failed in her attempt to cut the Joker from the deck, drawing instead, the Ten of Diamonds.   So, the contest continues with $401 in the accumulated pot with  34 cards remaining in the deck.
 
The winner of the Athens Rotary Foundation Scholarship Fund split the pot contest on October  30th was Sheila Mark.   She collected the weekly split of $23, but failed in her attempt to cut the Joker from the deck, drawing instead, the Three of Clubs.   So, the contest continues with $376 in the accumulated pot with  35 cards remaining in the deck.

The winner of the Athens Rotary Foundation Scholarship Fund split the pot contest on August 28th was once again the pooling players at Dave Palmer's table (for the sixth time in the eleven drawings of the current contest!).   Bob Barcikowski represented the table to collect the weekly split of $22, but was unsuccessful in cutting the Joker from the deck, drawing the Six of Clubs.   The accumulated pot will start at $228 next meeting with  42 cards remaining in the deck.

The winner of the Athens Rotary Foundation Scholarship Fund split the pot contest on July 17th was, for the third week in a row, the pooling players at Dave Palmer's table.   Don Fucci represented the table and collected the weekly split of $20, but was unsuccessful in cutting the Joker from the deck, drawing the King of Diamonds.   The accumulated pot will start at $94 next meeting with  48 cards remaining in the deck
 
After a 2 week hiatus, the winner of the Athens Rotary Foundation Scholarship Fund split the pot contest on July 10th was once again the pooling players at Dave Palmer's table.   Don Fucci once again represented the table and collected the weekly split of $20, but his luck in cutting the Joker from the deck of cards was no better this week, drawing the 8 of Hearts.   The accumulated pot will start at $74 next meeting with  49 cards remaining in the deck
