The 23rd Annual Rotary Golf Fundraiser, Sept. 9

Photo by Don Fucci (from 2015, 19-th Annual Event.)

Channing McAllister, President of the Athens Rotary Foundation, and Chair of the 23nd Annual Rotary Charity Golf Scramble, gave the announcement for this year's event.  This is the only yearly fundraising event event for the Athens Rotary Foundation.  Channing McAllister has previously said:

"While Rotary is known for its world-wide efforts, the Athens Rotary Foundation is focused entirely on the needs here in Athens County, particularly those of the youth.  Your support is very much appreciated and will help us address those needs"

Some of the projects we assisted in the last few years are:  helped build a handicapped accessible playground at the City's South Side Park; satisfied our $50,000 pledge to help rebuild the Athens High School football field and stadium; and pledged $50,000 each to the capital improvement projects of Stuart's Opera House and The Dairy Barn Arts Center.  Our Foundation has no administrative expenses;  all moneys flow directly to our projects.

It is support from community members like you that makes Athens a great place to live and raise children.  Please consider volunteering, being a sponsor, or participating in this year's event.

Become a Hole Sponsor ($125); Play ($125); Become a non-participating General Sponsor ($250); Become a participating Team Sponsor ($500); or simply, Volunteer your services to help with the event (Free!).
