Good Works Friday Night Supper
Athens Rotary's Good Works Friday Night Supper was held on March 23, 2018 at The Plains United Methodist Church.   Approximately 80 community members attended the supper of veggies and hummus, vegetarian chili, coleslaw, sloppy-joes, and peaches and blueberries with whipped topping for dessert.  Rotarians donated over $500 as the envelope was passed at weekly meetings to make this meal possible.  Rotarian volunteers  planned the meal and bought the supplies.  And, on the evening of the dinner, Rotarian and friend volunteers cooked, prepared, and served the food and then relaxed and enjoyed the meal with the Good Works community members.  Finally, the volunteers washed a mountain of dishes!

The volunteers for the event were:
Cooks/Planners: Sheila Mark, Margy Kramer, Jody Harris, and Tara Gilts.
Food preparers, servers, and dish washers:  Sheila Mark, Margy Kramer, Jody Harris, Tara Gilts, Ed Peterson, Brandon Elliott, Shawna Stump, Karen Harvey, Maisie Mitchell (AmeriCorps Member serving at O'Bleness Hospital) and Suzy Kaneshige.

A special "Thank You!" goes to our members and friends for their generosity and commitment to service!

Thanks to Tara Gilts for the information and pictures of the event.  See Photo Album of pictures here.
